London, England. Capital and Crown Jewel of Great Britain. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this city and I went with high expectations. After living in Paris for nearly two months, I was anxious to see one of Europe's other fine cities. But as I left London at the end of my trip, I was feeling unimpressed. I didn't feel like London lived up to the hype, which may partially be my fault for expecting so much. My travel partner and I failed to realize a few important details. The first thing we overlooked was that it was the middle of February. This meant sub zero temperatures, lots of wind, and snow. This picture was taken on the first day and this was the nicest weather we saw. We weren't expecting the weather to be as bad as it was. The second important thing we didn't fully take into account was how incredibly expensive England is due to the exchange rate. Its nearly $2 for every £, which made things quite expensive. For students who are travelling on a budget, this was a little tough to swallow. I came back to France with a greater appreciation for Paris and everything it has to offer. All in all, we did have some good experiences and took lots of pictures. I am definitely looking forward to my next travel experience.
