Chef in full concentrations
One of the things I wanted to do was learn Thai cooking. I decided to sign up for cookery class and even manage to slot it in the evening despite my busy 2 day schedule. I was the only student in the class so you can say I had private tuition. Hahaha. It was a unique experience, cooking in an open air kitchen. My friend tried my cooking and lives so I guess I can cook Thai food.
My first dish was prawn fried rice followed my Clear soup and Tom Yam Kun. Than it’s my favorite dish papaya salad. I made mine extra spicy and it was so delicious. The next dish is to make red curry paste and red curry followed my minced chicken with holy basil. Lastly is dessert which is sweet sticky rice with mango.
The cooking class cost 1000bhat and they came to pick us up from our hotel and send us back. Participants are given recipe book and certificate after completing the class.

Elephant ride
This is the second time I ride on an elephant in Thailand and it’s still as exciting as the first time.
We enjoy the ride and our elephant was happily picking up leaves along the pathway and chewing and drinking water from the river.
At the end of the ride we were given water and pineapples. It was an enjoyable ride and it was worth it.
Wat Tahm Seua
The story goes that a Buddhist monk, Jumnean Seelasettho who wanted to meditate in the caves in the 1960s and at that time, he discover tigers roaming around, hence the name Tiger Cave. Inside the cave there are discovery of tiger paw imprints.
Wat Tahm Seua is known as a center for meditation with its 1,000 year old trees, and the best viewpoint of Krabi. We did not climb as it’s about 1,237 steps leading up the hill to a Buddhist memorial complete with a huge Buddha and numerous stupas and a chedi.
Directions: The temple is located about 3km from the town towards North East.
Sra Morakot
The Emerald pool is a warm water crystal clear pool, 1-2 meters deep. This pool is refreshing. Have to be careful when walking on the edges of the pool. It is very slippery because of high calcium carbonate deposits.
Located in the area of Khao Pra-Bang Khram, east of Klong Thom. You can visit the crystal lagoon and the Thung Teao waterfall.
Address: 23 kms from city center Krabi
Directions: Take Highway No4. to Klom Thom and follow the signs to the waterfall.
At Kok Thai Sub-district. Sri Mahosot District.
This thermal spring pools enriched by natural mineral salts in a shaded rain forest is ideal for bathing and soothing aching muscles.
It was nice to enjoy natural "hot-tub Jacuzzi" filled with running spring water at 35°c-40°c.
There are many 'bathtubs' like pools which are caused by the running water from the thermal springs.
Directions: Krabi hot spring is around 70km from Krabi town and near the Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve, located right in the middle of the jungle.
Pranang Cave
Pranang Cave is attached to the main land & is accessible from Railey Bay. Just a short walk ahead is the princess cave with a decorative spirit house. We just lay at the beach and took a short nap and had a foot massage.
This is also where you can see "Princess Cave" or Tham Phra Nang Nok in Phra Nang beach. Local fishermen believe this is the home of a mythical sea princess.
There are a few long tail boats that sell fresh fruit & shakes i.e. orange, mango, pineapple for 30 baht. They also have baguette i.e. ham, cheese, tuna & egg baguette for 60 baht and sandwich i.e ham, cheese, tuna & egg, chicken sandwich for 40 baht or pad thai, fried rice for 50 baht
Bring sunscreen or suntan and drink plenty of water. It was a fun day and we were provided pack lunch and water so nobody would get dehydrated.
Directions: We book this tour with :Green Planet Tours, 31 / 2 M.2 Aonang Krabi
Tup Island
Tup Island is ideal for snorkeling and exploring on foot.
We walk to the surrounding island as when we arrive it was low tide we can walk across to the other island.
Chicken Island
Chicken Island got its name from a bizarre rock spire formation which resembles the head of a chicken. This island consists of steep cliffs, while the other end has beautiful beaches along a peninsula.
It looks more like a turkey neck than chicken to me though. We stop here for snorkeling. I have to say most of the corals are dead and not much to see except a few colorful fish. Masks are provided.

Koh Poda
We were picked up at 8.30 from our hotel to the beach front where we were briefed and boarded the tour boat. There were only 10 people in the tour. We booked this 4 island day trip with Green Planet tours which is based in Ao Nang. It cost us about 400Baht per person.
We started with Poda Island which is just 8 kilometers offshore, (around 25 minutes by boat) from Ao Nang I really love the beach and water here very clean sandy beach and warm crystal clear water. This island is famous for its pure white sandy beach You can also dive, snorkeling, feed the fishes and sun bathing too. Our boat was the first to arrive and we had like about 30 minutes of the island to ourselves before all the other boats and tourist arrives.
Address: 8 kilometers offshore
