Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh's history begins with the Lady Penh who discovered five Buddha images concealed in a tree, had a pagoda named Wat Phnom Don Penh built on the same spot. The city was founded a century later, taking its name from the pagoda that became the capital in 1866.

Going to Cambodia is not complete without going to Phnom Penh. This is where the country's most chilling site : The Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng Museum.

Nice Phnom Penh page. Oh.. I missed the Russian Market. I spent more time on the river promenade and went overland to HMCH from here. SL
