Although not my first time in the Emirates, we were only staying over for 2 nights as we returned from Malaysia. We planned to have a meal and drinks in the Burj-Al-Arab. Unfortunately we were told there was a 3 day wait for afternoon tea, so we could only peep at and dream of what could have been from the outside. Perhaps next time we will be lucky. |
| | Dune Safari Making the most of the short time we had in Dubai we chose to go on a Dune Safari. We shared a landcruiser with husband and wife doctors working in Bahrain. With the driver we all got on well and had plenty of laughs as we set off to the Desert. What we thought was going to be a personalised trip proved wrong as more and more Landcruisers kept appearing on the road. By the time we stopped to deflate the tyres for more traction on the sand there were at least a dozen. We had time to stock up with water and then set off into the desert. The drivers were all very skilled and we had great time, I would have loved to have had a go myself but accept that I would need a bit of practice. The whole trip was very well organised and I would recommend it to anyone. We finished the night at a touristy bedouin camp for food, drink and entertainment, well what the hell we were tourists and it was all good fun. Well worth it. |
