We arrived on the 27/1/06 and sadly left on 30/1/06 hopefully to return soon. The people were some of the friendliest I have met in Asia. The country is poor but the markets are full. The streets are safe and everyone I met were happy. Whatever the politics of any country, its the people that matter. The more people travel to Myanmar and mix and meet the people the more open the country will become. |
| | Shwedagon Pagoda This massive Temple complex is of course a must on a visit to Yangon and indeed it is an impressive site. The people show their devotion by forming groups and keep the Temple clean. |
| | Markets The markets in Rangoon are full, This night market although not well lit was a must to see. Locals shopping after work, the stalls were full of food and all looked fresh and no evil smells. |
