Bucharest Hotel Tips by planxty

I stayed here for five days in 2001, so the information may be a little dated.

As the tip title suggests, I was thoroughly happy with this place, it really is an excellent hostel. Accomodation is in mixed dorms of six, eight and 12 beds which are clean and warm enough. The staff are friendly, the hostel is in a reasonably good area within easy walking distance of the centre, although there are good public transport connections.

The price includes an hour of free internet per day, free Romanian cigarettes (totally unsmokable!), a free beer or Coke every day, free Continental breakfast (very good), free laundryand free parking should you require it.

There is a TV room with about 120 channels of satellite should feel so inclined. The whole place has a very relaxed atmosphere, although there is always somebody up for a party.

Someone from the hostel will also meet you at the airport or train station if you ask them. This is a great help if you are arriving in Bucharest for the first time - see my seperate tip about taxis!

Assuming it hasn't changed, I would have no hesitation in recommending this hostel to anybody.
