I have visited Paphos a number of times over a period of a few years, and I never cease to be amazed by how much it has grown on every return. As I have mentioned on other pages, my ex-girlfriend is Cypriot, so we tended to spend most of our time with friends rather than in the more touristy parts of town.
It is, however, still a wonderful place to visit, with various important archaological sites, numerous excellent restaurants and bars. The hrbour, seen in the main photo, is a reminder of the town's history as a fishing port, and now provides a base for various watersports.
I would recommend a visit in "shoulder" season (late spring or early autumn) when the crowds are less and the weather not quite so hot.
