Approaching Apo Island, Visayas, Philippines.

I mentioned elsewhere on my Philippines pages that I had deliberately not read a huge amount about the country pror to arrival as I did not want to have too many preconceived ideas. One place that did seem to crop up regularly in any research was Apo Island in the Visayas chain which was spoken of as an idyllic small island with only basic facilities and also a marine reserve with some of the best diving and snorkelling on the planet.

I am glad to say that I have now visited it and it is indeed all of the things they said it was although a minor foot injury prevented me from wearing fins so any diving was ruled out. Ah well, perhaps some day.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Simply beautiful.
Cons:Expensive to visit.
In a nutshell:It really is all they said it was.

Yes, can't seem to get out of it! Great place and I have many reasons to stay although I really need to get bck to UK. I'll be back there in early July.
