"The end of the bridge." a Taungthaman Travel Page by planxty

To be honest, I suspect the only reason this place gets visitors is because it is at the "far end" of the famous U Bein teakwood bridge. The "near end" is at Amarapura (see seperate page). Having said that, it's a pleasant enough little village with a few tourist shops and places to eat and drink. there is one temple worthy of a visit, but generally it's just a nice relaxing place to spend a little time before either walking back to Amarapura or getting a boat back across the lake (depending on the season and amount of water).
