| | It's been a long time since I checked in to VT. It's been one of those nightmarish years... Apologies to those who I've been ot of touch with since I fell off the map, as it were. Anyway, I've hardly been back in Ireland during the past six months so I'll have lots of updating to do on pages. I'll set aside some time to dust off the cobwebs soon. |
Mumbai, India I was filming in Mumbai, India a few months ago and was at a ceremony where a band of young boys in spotless uniform drummed while their leader swirled a staff with great dexterity. My eye was drawn, however, to a young boy of about the same age who clutched his younger sibling and gazed in wonder at a world beyond his reach. | View from hotel, Desenzano, Lago di Garda |
| | Lago di Garda, Italy Garda is an incredibly beautiful place. It has quite a tourist thing going on but local Italians seem to enjoy evening strolls by the lakeside just as much so it's a nice mix of visitors and locals. CHECK MY TRAVEL PAGES FOR ITALY |
Madrid, Spain On a scorching lazy day in Madrid I stopped to linger over a jug of sangria and to watch the world go by for a while. Amidst a sea of people who seemed to float on the warmth of the day this waiter loomed - somehow more animated and colourful than all those around him. | The picturesque magic of Cinque Terre |
| | Cinque Terre, Italy One of my favourite spots on earth. I adore Italy and this, for me, has all the elements. My dream is to find a little piece of heaven like this some day that the tourist industry has overlooked... I took this shot on a day where the light was more reminiscent of northern Europe. Hong Kong Harbour, Hong Kong If there's one thing I get more of a kick out of than buying camera equipment it's buying camera equipment at bargain prices. You'll understand, then, why I love Hong Kong. I snapped this shot as dawn broke over the harbour on the morning of Chinese New Year's Day. | The fishing port of Howth - a unique place |
| | Dublin, Ireland Howth is one of the most charming spots in Dublin. Perched on a peninsula extending from the city's northernmost borders, the village still retains it's busy fishing port alongside the yacht club with it's bobbing masts marking the playthings of our celtic tiger economy's nouvo riche. Victoria, Australia For me, Melbourne is the real capital of Australia. I suppose that, as an Irish guy, there is a lot I can relate to there. It is full of cosy back street bars and laid back people. Unlike Sydney, which comes alive at the weekend, Melbourne' s heart beats steadily all week through. Heading out of the city along the Mornington Peninsula is a real joy. That's where I snapped this Kookaburra - a truly Aussie creature. CHECK MY TRAVEL PAGES FOR MELBOURNE | | |
