Everybody talks about it. Many people went there. And, yes, it's expensive! Well if you have a professional reason to be there (lucky me) or if you take advantage of very cheap plane tickets...

Arriving by plane and train, one first notices cars are not allowed. To my biggest pleasure: streets are pedestrian, with many bridges (more than 400) for 118 isles. The importance of the surrounding waters (177 canals) will let you prefer vaporettos or your feet, when you don't need to cross waters.
