While visiting Anaheim and San Diego, I discovered Temecula, CA . It turned out to be an interesting place with many activities, especially if you're only there for a day. I took a hot air balloon ride and drove through Temecula Valley Wine Country. I had lunch at one of the casinos in the area (Pechanga and Pala are nearby). Old Town Temecula has antique shops and historic buildings. After a full day's activities, I left Temecula for my final destination: The San Diego area.
- Pros:Beautiful scenery, lots of activities to suit variety of interests
- Cons:None, but plan your driving times to avoid "rush hour"
- In a nutshell:Relaxing Place to Refresh the Spirit, Enjoy Bottle of Wine and Open Air

You are right about the Hot Air Balloon ride, but the changes from 2004 till now in Temecula would knock your socks off. It is now a major wine appellation as well as Hot Air Balloon country.
I've always wanted to take a hot air balloon ride, and Temecula would be a beautiful place to do it. Great photos.
