Visual Overload | My eye level view of a huge marble statue! |
Rome is a place that can only be described as "visual overload." After proclaiming about 20 "Wows" in a matter of hours, we had to admit that we were, in fact, not prepared for this much ancient history, beauty, art and diversity. At least not all in one city stop, on our tour of Italy. But in Rome, it is everywhere. We were left speechless after one day of touring. |

| | How small are we? If you ever want to go to a place where you are so taken in by the monuments and ruins of another time, go to Rome. Just seeing the remains of The Colosseum, for example, and hearing the stories of life within the walls of ancient Rome, will move you to ask, "Who am I, compared to all of this?" |
| | What is "Beauty"? They say that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Thank goodness for cameras, because I was "beholding it " at every turn. When you visit Italy, take plenty of film or disc space. The problem isn't finding things to take a picuture of, but deciding if you want your friends and family to be in them! Once you see the beauty you've captured, you'll want to frame them all. |

| Pros: | "Enough to see and do for days. Something for everyone." | | Cons: | "Drive in Rome "at your own risk!" Better to get a Roman tour guide." | | In A Nutshell: | "Big beautiful city, full of ancient sights and modern sounds." |
