"Finale Ligure" a Finale Ligure Travel Page by Trillian2005

...is a very lively, old and picturesque town on the seaside, located next to the rock of Caprazoppa at the gulf of Genoa in the province of Savona in Liguria. The town's name means the "Final Ligurian", probably named after the final pure-bread Ligurian in 1363 before he mingled with the Lombards (who, by the way, lent their name to famous Lombard street in San Francisco) and married Giulia Giovanna Lombardino of the Lombard tribe.
The name of the rock Caprazoppa supposedly means "Zapped Goat". The rock was full of grazing goats before they were zapped in order to make way for the new town of Finale Ligure. Well, that was a long time ago and back then it was new.

I also visited there a long time ago, together with my parents. This photo shows my mom and myself wondering where in the universe we finale are.

- Convent of Santa Caterina that now houses the town's museum.

I do not remember seeing all these sights. In fact, I don't remember any of them, just strolling along the palm-lined promenade. Here you can see my dad and myself strolling, and since my mom is not in the picture, she must have been the one taking it.
