Tiberias (Invisible Picture Contest)

Can Anybody see 56 Pictures on this Page??

Kinneret or Sea of Galilee
Just to set things straight, folks - there is no such thing as Lake Tiberias, sorry VT. The lake is called "Sea of Galilee" (in English) or "Kinneret" (in Hebrew), "See Genezareth" (in German)...and I'll spare you from listing the names in the rest of the world's languages. The city on the lake is called "Tiberias" (Tverya in Hebrew), but without the lake addition. So that's that.

The city was named after a Roman emperor. It was not Caesar because the city of Caesarea was already named after him. The Roman emperor I'm talking about was called Tiberius.

Tiberias is also referred to as "The City of Treasures" because of the abundance of antiquities that were discovered in the area. Located on the western shore of the Kinneret (a.k.a. the Sea of Galilee), Tiberias is not only a favorite health and holiday resort, but also a favorite pilgrimage destination. In addition to tourists and religious folks you can also find real residents in Tiberias.
The city is located on a mountain slope, with the Golan Heights as a backdrop on the other side of the lake.
Gabi and Sirpa enjoying a Chinese dinner lunch

Gabi and Sirpa and Chinese Food

This time I visited Tiberias with Sirpa after our rest and relaxation at Hamat Gader. We didn't go on any pilgrimage or shopping tour, but instead we enjoyed an early to late dinner lunch at a lovely Chinese restaurant overlooking the lake. The restaurant served delicious Chinese food and actually it is one part of a twin restaurant: "The Pagoda" and "Ha Bait" (= The House, not in Chinese, but in Hebrew). We dined in "Ha Bait" because "The Pagoda" was closed for Shabbat.

My Cup of Tea

This is my cup of Jasmine tea at Ha Bait. Jasmine tea is green tea flavored with Jasmine blossoms and it goes well with any type of Chinese food. This particular one reflected the restaurant's bamboo ceiling. I drank three cups.

I first became addicted to Jasmine Tea Hot or Cold in Korea, but I'm fighting the addiction with coffee. Lots and lots of coffee!
