The reaons why everyone comes here is because of it's amazing location. Several mountains surround the city, including the big 3 (Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau) and there are well marked, well maintained hiking paths everywhere. The surrounding area is very beautiful, with views of mountains, glaciers, cows and small huts everywhere. |
| | Tourists The bad thing about beautiful places is that they often attract people. The entire town is a tourist trap, with gift shops selling the same five objects with swiss crosses on them everywhere. Almost everyone here is from a different country, and you'll here more English than anything else. But, aside from a few places, once you leave the town, it is easy to find yourself on a mountain trail with no one around but cows and their ringing bells. |
