Sevilla is all of Anadalucia (except possibly for the beaches) combined, along with the feel of a big city. Of the cities I visited in Andalucia, this was my favorite. The Alcazar is amazing, and I dare say, as beautiful (if not more) than the Alhambra (it’s just more compact). There are orange trees everywhere (though the oranges are pretty sour). The small calles in the Barrio Santa Cruz make you feel like you’re in the old medieval (or Moor) city, while just a few blocks away is large streets with shops and busy pedestrians. |
| | The best part of Seville is that I never felt like I was in a touristy place. Granted, I was there in the winter (though other cities in Andalucia in the winter still felt very touristy). It is easy to hang out, shop, or blend in with the locals. |
Finally, with dinner starting at 11 PM, Seville is truly a city that does not sleep. Even in the winter time, people were out at all hours. I can only imaging what it's like in the summer. If you love your sleep, you may want to stay a little further out in the city. | | |

| Pros: | "Large City, Lots of things to do/see, not too touristy (at least in winter)" | | Cons: | "loud at night (though that could be a good thing)" | | In A Nutshell: | "This is THE city to visit in Andalucia" |

Ciao! | sikorka Thu Mar 27, 2008 21:43 UTC Nice page, it reminds me about last holidays :) | hindu1936 Sat Mar 10, 2007 01:35 UTC Good information. Often an informative negative comment such as yours about the overpriced admission and what you don't see is more valuable than exuberant praise. good photos too. thanks |
