A mixture of culture | View of front gate of the city |
The history of Toledo goes back to the Roman times, continues through with Visigoths, Muslims, Jews, and Christians controling the city at vairous times. Because of this, there are a variety of cultures mixed together here. Where else can you see buildings named Mezquita de Cristo de la Luz and Sinogoga Santa Maria la Blanca? |
Easy day trip It is about 70 km from Madrid and makes for a great day trip. The only bad thing about it is that is a great amount of tourists and it can get pretty crowded at times. Make sure you get a street map from the tourist office, since with the small, winding alleys it's easy to get lost. |
