Rüdesheim is a wine village along the Rhine River, and in my opinion, the prettiest town in the region. Surrounding it are vineyards along hills and through it, the Rhine winds. The town is small and can be seen in a day trip (though it can serve as a base for the surrounding area as well). The buildings are traditional half-timered houses turned into restaurants and hotels. The town can get VERY crowded peak season so you'll want to book a hotel early. People generally come here either for a day trip or for the great wine produced locally. Rüdesheim even has its own "train" that takes you down the main streets. There are also some worthwhile attractions. Rüdesheim is a beautiful town. |
