I have not yet decided if I liked Alanya. Strange statement I know, if you like large towns Alanya is for you, if you don't, you might not like it here.
We used Alanya as a base to visit other parts of Turkey. See also Cappadocia, Side, Olu Deniz (if built) |
| | Great beaches I suppose if you are looking for a beach holiday with plenty of shops and restaurants, Alanya is the place to be.
The biggest problem we found here was the humidity, it was hot (ave 33 degrees) but very humid. It did improve after the thunderstorm for a couple of days.
As I have had time to think about it, my feelings for this resort may change, but at the moment i'm 50/50. |
| | Not as quiet as this picture shows This trip was always going to be a road trip of sorts. We had decided we wanted to see Cappadocia, Side and Olu deniz.
In total I drove 2,400 kms or 1,500 miles in 12 days, some driving I know, but I enjoyed every minute of it.
More to come later. |

Tamina Tue Nov 6, 2007 08:00 UTC Better take no traveller cheques at all. Only in tourist centers they are accepted. NEVER get money from the airport- very bad exchange rate. You even don´t need turkish money. Euro and Dollar are accepted even in supermarkets.... |
