After several times I visit Bali and never get bored, it's time for me to come to its neighbour, Lombok Island.
I think Bali has more character than Lombok, because of the Hinduism tradition and everything about it...the ceremonies, costumes, temples, beauty, etc.. but it doesn't make Lombok is not special. Lombok is more original than Bali. And different to Bali, most people in Lombok are Moslem, we can find big mosque in almost every 200 meter, maybe it's an island with a million mosque :-)
The capital city is Mataram, but most of hotels in Lombok are in Senggigi Beach, about 20 mins by car from Mataram.
I heard some people said that Lombok is like Bali 30 years ago. It has beautiful nature and a large variety of landscapes, from tropical beaches to high mountains, dry plains and deep forests. But tourism is still limited to just a few areas. |

I"ve climbed mt. Rinjani when i was in highschool...i was YOUNG then with so much energy hahahah.. i think now I'd break my bones if i try to climb mt. Rinjani again. but it's definitely GORGEOUS! :) |
