Culebra

Me home while on Culebra
Culebra is a quaint little island a few miles off the coast of Puerto Rico. It doesn't offer much in the way of tourist services though it's pristine and off the beaten path beaches more than make up for it. I spent two nights in Culebra sleeping on the beach in my hammock (my main member picture). I was feet from the lapping waves, had shade in the morning, and a breeze at night. Not to mention that I was also the only person on the beach at night. During the day I had to share it with 5 to 10 people who hiked in for some snorkelling though. Culebra is a great little island. One where you can truly relax and get away. It's also the more idyllic place that I have had the opportunity to lay my head for a few nights.
Old San Juan

Old San Juan

Old San Juan is a beautiful city. It is laid out in a fort that was used to protect the city. Everything is compact and within walking distance. Many great resturaunts, bars, clubs, and places to stay. Lot's of history as well.

El Yunque National Forest

This is a cloud forest high in the mountains of Puerto Rico. Only a short drive from the beach you feel as if you have been transported to a different world and indeed you have been. Many great hiking opportunities abound. Waterfalls, the jungle, rainforest, and lots of flora and fauna to gaze at. This is a great place to go hiking for the day or even to spend a few nights hiking and camping. Just make sure you are prepared for the rain.

Pros:"Great food, great beaches, great mountains, great weather."
Cons:"Islands are expensive. Transportation is difficult without a car."
In A Nutshell:"America with a splash of cuba and a little twist."

Your Lemon Ceio recipe sounds Awesome! Always looking for great drink recipes. Think it would work out at the pool in GA or does it have to be in Puerto Rico? Pam
