Aargau the least visited canton

Castle Lenzburg
Most people driving on the A1 Autobahn, which connects Switzerland from east to west rarely realize what treasures they bypass along the way.

Take a break get off at exit Aarau and follow the direction to Lenzburg and you will discover the famous castle of Lenzburg.

Set on a hilltop fortresses you catch a quick glimpse of this magnificent castle from the autobahn.
Since the middle ages it has played an important role in the forming of the Swiss Conferation. Today it serves as a Museum of History showing how the governors of Bern lived through the centuries.
Interesting is the dungeon houses showing the mediaeval prison conditions and the instruments of torture which sends a shiver down your spine.
Aarau

Aargau - Carrot country

Nicknamed Ruebliland meaning carrot country, it is a land of many waters where the rivers Limmat, Reuss, Aare and Rhein. Aargau interesting points
Hunzenschwil village where I live
Schinznach Bad the ideal sulphur baths to relax in

The Aare is at my backdoor and flows through (17'617 km²) of Switzerland.

Hiking or cycling along these rivers is a real treat for nature lovers.

Farmers offer you a bed in the hay with breakfast. A real adventure for families with children.
