Interlaken/Luzern are not the only ports of call

Hi I am Sylvia and I would like to take you on a short journey through Switzerland. Check out my tips and see Switzerland through my eyes.
Dont forget to visit the country side and meet the people.
Hoping this helps you to find your way around and see some places where you normally would'nt venture like my village.
Hunzenschwil

The fastest way to see Switzerland in one day and experience some spectacular views is to take the Glacier Express. Switzerland is small (41'000 km2). The distance from the east to the west is 350 km, from the north to the south 250 km. With the railway you can travel from one end to the other Switzerland in aprox. four hours and you can enjoy the panorama with its different landscapes.

The trip from Zermatt to St Moritz is eight to nine hours. Brig to Chur and then Zürich is recommended not as long.

Can be booked from any train station or http://www.sbb.ch/en/index.htmOther memorable trips are with the Golden Panoramic Express from Montreux to Spiez.

Of course you can also see the Schilthorn, remember 007 Piz Gloria by going to Murren.

Above an idea of what my village looks like. By the way if you ever pass this way dont be surprised if you are greeted by total strangers and children who say "Gruezi" as they pass you along the way.

Tips on travelling

A museum in Appenzell worth visiting

Certainly worth a visit. Once famous for embroidery goes as far back as 1750 employed about 40,000 people by 1790 (interesting embroidery collection )

This attractive page brings back memories of my two semesters as a student in Berne -- quite some time ago!

What a beautiful country you live in! I especially liked your Zermutt photograph. I also love trains, which the U.S. is sadly lacking. Seeing your beautiful mountain country by train would be a lot of fun.

You have such a lovely homeland, Sylvia. So many great photos on this page, too. Greetings from Florida.
