Getting TO/AROUND: A must: Reserve your seat on the TGV. We travelled from Bern Switzerland with the TGV to Paris and saw people sitting between compartments and this was first class. It's a long journey and you don't really want to stand all the way.

Getting TO/AROUND: In 3½ hours to from Basel Switzerland to Paris: the new daily TGV Lyria services to the French capital have started June 10,2007. Does not affect the current TGV Lyria links between Geneva, Berne, Neuchâtel and Paris. Short walk to Gare du Nord: Connections to Brussels by Thalys and to London by Eurostar Departs from Zurich 07:02 and from Basel SBB 08:04. Arrive in time for lunch at Paris-Est 11:34
