Living in a small village in Lincolnshire means having to travel to the nearest town for shops and other services. My nearest town is Spilsby and even though it's small it has a great website at www.spilsby.info
and a lot of history. It is a market town, the home of explorer Sir John Franklin who fought at Trafalgar and led an expedition to the Arctic and nearby is the village of Somersby, home of poet, Sir Alfred Tennyson. There is a good range of shops, pubs, cafes and local services and a theatre, but for most entertainment, culture, food....it is usually necessary to leave here and travel further afield hence my tips for things to do are mostly beyond Spilsby but within easy reach.
- Pros:A traditional, friendly small town
- Cons:Doesn't have everything you need
- In a nutshell:Small but special
