A perfect little side trip.......... On my last trip to Thailand i decided I would spend my last few nights somewhere plush so took the chance to check out Hua Hin - and it was well worth it! 3 hrs by road form Bangkok - but feels a million miles away! A nice laid back seaside village, nested amongst Royal Palaces, miles of beach and unusually positioned temples! |

| | Wanna getaway from Bangkok? Just jump on a train or bus down to Hua Hin & in three hours you are there.... I spoilt myself and stayed at the Hilton - right in the middle of town in a prime beachfront location. But well worth it - the view from my balcony was fantastic (as you can see above!) and the hotel, its staff and facilities were superb..... You can do as much or as little as you like - wander around the beach, discover town by day and the markets by night, or visit the myriads of local temples, palaces, and national parks nearby. |

| | Little tips! Hua Hin is not one one would call a shoppers paradise by day - so save it for night & go to the markets - it makes Bangkok look expensive!!!!
There is a good variety of restaurants in the neighbouring streets to the Hilton & Sofitel Hotels, but make sure you try the open air restaurants set up opposite the Police Station on the main road - good, cheap, authentic fresh Thai delights and entertainment from young local waiting staff eager to have a chat! |
