When I was here I was on a 3 week training course provided by Tetra Pak. My limited tourism enabled me to go to Shanghai and "tiger hill".
I found China to be a very strange place for westerners. Most restaurants only have Chinese menus so it helps to have a Chinese speaker with you.
Despite the cultural and language barrier I found the Chinese very friendly and willing to help.
