i really dont know where to begin or what to say about this beautiful country. a scattering of islands strewn across the 'blue blanket' that is the indian ocean, white specks of atolls glittering like pearls. balmy warm nights, beautiful sunny hot days, a simple easy relaxing life.
after a 2007 that was a bit of a letdown, an island holiday was the choice, and this time i was taking my sister (and two friends) on their first overseas voyage. i wanted mauritius for a bit more of a cultural aspect, somebody else wanted a pacific island, but for our xmas break, it was actually my sister who saw the club med brochure, pointed to the picture, and said we are going there. and what princess joey wants she gets haha.
so we booked months in advance, got our spots reserved, and off we went. not knowing too much about the maldives, but just going to sit and relax and chill.
we got what we wanted and a whole lot more. the maldives exceeded our wildest dreams. and it wasnt the all inclusive alcohol that made me think it either!
i think everybody should try and get to the maldives once in their lifetime. even if a "beach" holiday isnt your thing. because its not really my ideal type of holiday, but boy, have i changed my tune now! go!!!!
