i did not particularly like the city of edinburgh. i don't know why exactly, but it just didn't have that IT factor that other cities have. personally, i preferred glasgow over edinburgh, simply because glasgow is more gritty, more REAL then what the pretentious edinburgh is.
having said this, edinburgh is beautiful in it's own way. with its old buildings, twisting alleyways and cobbled streets, the old town is a delight. for walkers there is the beautiful trail that leads up to arthur's seat. shopping is pretty decent here too, with all the major high street stores on offer. the people were very friendly and there was a strong sense of pride amongst them and their city.
edinburgh is a definite must see city when in scotland. it does have its charms. but i suppose it all depends on personal opinion, and to me, i just didn't get that feel from this city. |
