i can definitely say that CADIZ was a highlight of my time in spain. i knew very little about this city, and had heard that it might not be as spectacular as other southern spanish cities. well, i can honestly say that is a mistake to miss this gem!
cadiz was wonderful. a fantastic city with many interesting features to explore. it has a history that dates back to phoenician times, then romans, then spanish explorers etc etc etc. with such a wonderful history there is definitely a flavor to the city that i quite liked.
but out of it all, the thing that most impressed was the people in general. the gaditanos (people of cadiz) appeared to me to be a warm, friendly and happy people. a cafe culture abounds, and to get a true sense of this feeling, one must also sit in a cafe/bar and watch the locals pass by. life here just seems to be nice... i know nice is such a generic word, but its all i could think of right now! cadiz just had this feeling... it washed over me, and permeated everywhere i went. it was just a 'feel good' city, and i hope that this page might show a little bit of that!
