do you want a paradise? a paradise that is not overrun with 'wannabe' tourists? a paradise where time seems to stand still? then CAYE CAULKER is the place for you!
i spent 4 glorious days on caulker, and enjoyed every minute! from its balmy evenings, sitting on the beach drinking cheap rum, to the wonderful snorkelling on one of the world's magnificent coral reefs, caye caulker is THE place for a relaxing time.
a short 40 minute boatride, or even quicker by plane, will get you to this wonderful place, which will hopefully never become another cancun or the likes. this is the island of the GO SLOW, and boy, will you be going slow once you hit the island!
i hope you will enjoy my small sampling of one of my most favorite places i've ever visited! |

MalenaN Wed Oct 24, 2007 17:06 UTC I'm glad to hear that Caye Caulker is still a very relaxed place. I was there in 1990, but can't remember there were and golf carts at the time. | nepalgoods Sun Oct 14, 2007 07:03 UTC That looks great! Sun and beach! Wonderful! | JLBG Mon Sep 17, 2007 20:26 UTC Great photos! This looks like a wonderful snorkeling place. I hope to get there, some day! Go slow is a nice motto but they seem to stick also to the “slow food” philosophy and movement! Date palm trees are definitely safer than coconut palm trees! | toonsarah Sat Aug 25, 2007 14:13 UTC This sounds such a magical place :) Belize is high on my wish list, and you've just pushed it even higher! |
