HMS Victory ~ fought in the Battle of Trafalgar!
We have just come back from Portsmouth - my second trip and hubby's first!

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will go again in a few weekends time with my sister and a friend, to go up the Spinnaker Tower, go on a boat trip, do some shopping in their MANY shopping outlets, go and explore the historic ships some more and basically enjoy a day out! Having lived near Simon's Town (South Africa's naval town) so long, we both really appreciate and enjoy anything naval... me adding in the naval officers too ;)

The photo is of the HMS Victory, which is permanently docked at Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard. What a maginificent ship!!! There are a couple other historic boats, some war-time boats, a ferry, some sailing boats and even a giant carrier! All very exciting and fun to see :)

See the travelogues below for some more pics of the historic ships and Spinnaker Tower!

Pros:"Something for all ages and enjoyments!"
Cons:"Get the other lift working on the Spinnaker Tower!"
In A Nutshell:"A lovely place for us to visit on weekends :)"

Great page Jen. That picture in your TL of the SPinnaker Tower is the best I've seen - and I've seen a lot in the construction press !

This is my lucky day, Jenn! We have a brief stop in Portsmouth on our itinerary so I took several of your tips for my guide. Well done and thanks!

Great pages about Portsmouth. I have one of my gggg Grand fathers who was a sea captain at Trafalgar and was an eye witness to Nelsons death. Did you know more people were killed in the storm 3 days after the battle than at Trafalgar.

Great tips - thorough and interesting. You've made me realise that there's so much to Portsmouth that I've never seen, including the shopping opportunities ;)
