Tsitsikamma Nasionale Park Warnings Or Dangers
Sort by: Most Recent | Best Rated | Author's Order

Warnings Or Dangers: Rough waters
  • Tip Rating:
  • This part of the coast is quite wild, and the waves keep you up at night, crashing against the rocks in front of you.

The currents are strong here too, and would be dangerous even for a really strong swimmer.

    Definately NOT surfing potential either!

Lovely waves but not surfing waves, especially as they break on rocks!

Especially as there are quite a few shark species in this area too (seven!).

The first photo is of the rocks in front of our log cabin :)

Warnings Or Dangers: Leave the plants alone!
  • Tip Rating:
  • There are also many different types of indigenous South African flowers, like proteas, along the paths to look at.

On the other side of the suspension bridge there is a little rocky beach too, with the most gorgeous smooth rocks, worn away by the tide's waters over many years.

So there is much temptation to take something from here!

Please do not touch or take anything from the park - whether a flower or a rock - as it is a National Park and is a protected conservation area.

When I went over that bridge I did not know about the sharks. It's a great place though isn't it?

What a beautiful spot in which to spend your honeymoon! Of course, the South African coastline would be enjoyable no matter what the occassion!
