We went to Johannesburg, Pilansberg Game Reserve, Lost City & Sun City (for 3 nights, and over my birthday!), the Karoo, Cradock (stayed at the renowned Die Tuishuis), did a good section of the Garden Route (3 nights at Wilderness Nature Reserve), plus the Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn, and then went on to Cape Town and all her wine tasting, mountain climbing and cultural beauty. | Nando's South Bank Dinner ~ 1 June 2007 |
Meeting friends :)So many people we have met here have become good friends. Our stories of meetings and the people we have met are on our Greater London and England pages. We had a lovely time with Kat, Berni, Carl and some pals in March 2007!
Kitkat (keida84) came to London after spending precious time with Berni and Carl in Upwell. Kat is a friend for life, and a second big sister to me. Berni and Carl are also wonderful souls, we are surrounded by people who have touched my husband and I in a huge way, who have made a big impact on our lives. For that we will always be grateful. We had a fantastic time, meeting up at the Royal Albert Hall (where Berni and Carl were going to see Madame Butterfly), and then wandered off to find a restaurant. This photo is from a meeting I arranged in June 2007... where we went to the Borough Market on London's south bank. We then went to the Clink Prison Museum, the Golden Hinde (Francis Drake's ship!), had a drink at The Anchor pub on the Thames, finishing off at Nandos for a delicious meal. LIVING HOPE CENTRE & HIV AIDS It was started by the church we used to attend in Fish Hoek, Cape Town, pastored by John Thomas. They have done and continue to do a wonderful work for the community near them, which has a huge HIV Aids problem.
