Many people when they visit kuala gandah end up leaving out the batu caves and its a shame as its well worth a visit. Many say that the idea time to visit is during the hindu festival of thaipusan (feb) but i thought it was pretty good anytime. After climbing the few hundred steps you can feed the monkeys which are friendly enough to come up and take food straight from your hands. You can see all the hindu's around showing homage to their godsand getting covered in both red and white on their faces.

The local Henna tatoos are wicked! I got two done during my time in malaysia and its great because it lasts for about a week. Normally takes about 20 minutes for the girl to paint it on, and the longer you leave the black paint on, the deeper the red will be afterwards. i put sugar/lemon water on the paint in order to make it hard so it stayed on longer so i got the best colour.
