650km of pistes | The view in the afternoon |
For my very first snowboarding trip, I plunged through pages and pages of travelguides; where would my hunger to hit as many slopes as possible be satisfied? La Plagne, in the Paradiski skiing resort, boasts around 325km of pistes by itself, which is extended to 650km by the Les Arcs resort just opposite of it. The two areas are linked by the massive Vanoise Express lift, which can carry 300 passengers each way. It seemed to fit the bill and the trip was booked for a Christmas getaway in 2006! |

| | Loads of villages The nice thing about this ski resort is that you can ski from village to village. La Plagne boasts eleven smaller resorts within the resort, all equipped with restaurants, hotels, appartments and bars. Most important thing during your day is a lovely terrace to soak up the sun (and a couple of beers or a bottle of wine perhaps). A large number of the slopes face the sun during the morning and early afternoon, making La Plagne an excellent resort to have your lunch on the slopes. |
Enjoy the tips! If you're looking for a great resort, be sure to give La Plagne your consideration! Check out my tips on the resort, I'm sure they'll make you want to get on the next train down there this winter! | | |
