This is where I live... I live in Dayton, OH. I'm originally from the Cleveland area, and I've lived near Detroit, in NW Ohio, and in southern Kentucky. It's a smaller city-about 170,000 people or so-but there is plenty of stuff to do here, which is why I moved back after six years of education and school of life stuff. I found a super cheap apartment, that's convenient to everything, so I can get out and do (and afford to do!) as much travel and merrymaking as possible. My apartment is set-up to sleep half-dozen friends and guests...plus the floor. |

| Pros: | "very centrally located, close to anything you could possibly want to do, within about 2 hours of 6-8 airports, on i-70 & 75, people tend to be proud of their city and heritage, decent music scene, numerous colleges" | | Cons: | "high crime rate, you are likely to get begged, no buffer zone around impoverished areas, loss of many manufacturing jobs has resulted in economic dive, it is smaller-you may have to drive an hour to get certain foods, buy certain clothes, etc." | | In A Nutshell: | "I like it here...not forever, but for now!" |

kevanrijn Fri Mar 2, 2007 15:44 UTC Very nice restaurant tips and good info on the other tips too. I'm planning to be in Dayton next weekend--the Bamboo Grill sounds like someplace I'll have to check out! |
