A preserved city

World War II was extremely devastating to Poland. The task of rebuilding this country was enormous. My wife and I visited Krakow as part of a short trip here. One thing that I quickly learned was the Krakow was left largely intact as far as its buildings were concerned in the aftermath of war. Unfortunately, many of its people were not so lucky. This city and its surroundings have a tale to tell that goes back a long time. Krakow has many faces, each of them worth exploring. There is a Polish royal heritage here in which evidence of that time still remains. Medieval walls and towers can be found in the heart of Krakow. Dont miss the fun of exploring the central market square with the large Cloth Hall and the imposing cathedral in the vicinity. Perhaps you will hear the lone trumpet playing from one of its towers. This city is quickly becoming one of Eastern Europe's most desirable travel destinations and it is easy to see why. I liked it immediately as we arrived in town. It is easy to walk around the core of the old city. There are many sites here. It would truly take a much longer visit to do this city justice. Nevertheless, I worked with the time we had to learn something about this fantastic place. As you can guess, I highly recommend a visit to Krakow.

Pros:"One of the finest preserved medieval cities on the continent."
Cons:"Winters can be a little harsh."
In A Nutshell:"An outstanding destination for travel. It fascinates the vast majority of its visitors."
