Small country with many places to visit Many people associate Amsterdam with drugs and prostitution, however a visitor will soon learn that this city has a wealth of positive aspects to it. Certainly, this is one of the most attractive city centers in the world. You do not have high rises in the middle of the old center to spoil the antique feel. The canals are everywhere. In fact, I think this city may have even more than Venice itself. This city is easily walkable, and it should be a pleasant one. There are also trams that one can take to get you to where you want to go. There are good museums, historical sights, and neighborhoods to explore. You simply cannot go wrong with Amsterdam. We stayed in Joordan, which is a very nice area. It is more laid back than the hustle and bustle around Centraal Station. The people are helpful here too. Without a doubt, this is one of the easiest places to explore with the efficient transportation and ease in getting directions if you need them. |
