Bath's popularity began as a spa, and it has been known as a place to be seen since that time. This town is widely known as the best place in Britain to see evidence of the Roman period. The town itself is excellent for walking. There are many fine structures from the Georgian time period. I found the city center to be compact, and signs to various sites are well placed. Tourists are quite aware of Bath as it is on the circuit of tour companies. For this reason, I would suggest avoiding it in the high season. |

penumbra Tue Jan 16, 2007 03:13 UTC I’d passed through Bath years ago but didn’t take time to stop and look around. If I’d known that the Pulteney Bridge was there I’d probably have made a better choice and stayed awhile. |
