TROY (TRUVA)
Troy, also Ilium (ancient Ilion), famous city of Greek legend, on the northwestern corner of Asia Minor. The legendary founder of the city was Ilus, the son of Tros, from whom the name Troy was derived. The son and successor of Ilus was Laomedon, who was slain by the hero Hercules, when Hercules captured the city. During the reign of Laomedon's son Priam occurred the celebrated Trojan War, which resulted in the capture and destruction of the city.
During this war many people came to the aid of Troy from various places of Anatolia, but because of the trick of the "Wooden Horse", the city fell and Troy was burnt and destroyed. The Trojans who could save themselves from this massacre, built their city over again and kept on living there.

"All of us have been affected in some way by the recent tragedy in Asia. Such a beautiful part of the earth ravaged by Mother Nature proves to us how vulnerable we are at any time, in any place in the world.
Thoughts went out immediately to any friends I knew of who were either traveling or living in the devastated areas……..and scenes of the aftermath make me do whatever I can to help those suffering.
Traveling is a way of life and always a source of happiness for a lot of us here on this site. When we are struck by tragic events like this, always take it as a gentle reminder to relish in any amount of spontaneous joy that comes your way.
Imagine it. Create it. Be part of it.
Dance above the light of the candles."

Tatanka Yotanka, Sitting Bull (Hunkpap Sioux). The famous red indian chief. He was one of the leaders of Little Bighorn war in 1876. He was killed in 1890.
Tatanka means bison in Latin. It is also emphasised in the film Dances with Wolves, 1990..
This is a brief information of the word “Tatanka”
Tatanga...
It is the name of the fan group of Sakaryaspor. It is used ‘Tatanga’ instead of Tatanka just because of the better pronunciation in Turkish.
A group of fans made a contest to choose a name and this meaningful word “Tatanga” is selected. We all grew up with the name “Tatangalar” (-lar makes the word plural in Turkish).
We have the respect of all fans around.
"We loved this city from the stadium stands".. One of the famous banner in our stadium.
Sakarya is the most important city of Turkish football. You read true, “most important” city. The players promoted from our academy are now at the top levels of Turkish football.. Hakan Sukur, Tuncay Sanli, Aykut Kocaman, Engin Ipekoglu, Oguz Cetin, Turhan Sofuoglu, Recep Cetin ... a very small list, it will take lots of pages if we write them all.
Sakarya has always been a tough venue for other teams and its fans. They think twice before deciding to come to Sakarya for supporting their teams. Don't take this as a holiganist thought, you'd better to ask them why they don't come, we also don't know.
Tatangalar are one of the limited fan groups that still continues to keep going to every away match accross the country. In 1997, Second Division play-off match, Sakaryaspor faced with Istanbul Bld in a neutral stadium located in Eskisehir and nearly 25.000 Sakaryaspor fans went to that play-off match from Sakarya and this is a record. (The biggest amount of fans arrived to a city from an other )
Tatangalar also known with great shows in the stadiums. Fireworks ect.
Tatangalar are not only a great fan group but also a group of people that loves the city with a great dependence. In the big earthquake disaster at 1999 summer, while no government aid reached to the hurt people, Tatangalar reached all parts of the city to help the public.
1988.. This year has a special meaning for us.. We have many many star players promoted from our youth academy, but they all transfered to clubs like Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas.. We have the chance to play them together only once, it's the year 1988.. We won the Turkish cup by beating Fenerbahce 5-1 , Besiktas 4-0.

This music bears the signs of local cultures and the names of their creators are usually indefinite..
The folk music of my country has a structure that was formed by collecting the specific cultural values of all civilizations that have been living in Anatolia and Turkish Thrace since the old times of history and incorporating cultural differences of the regions and thus, that is rare throughout the whole world with its prosperity and diversity.
