Floremar (Pizza da Mario): Great Pizza!

Restaurant Name: Floremar (Pizza da Mario)
Owned by friendly husband and wife team Mario and Flor, this charming restaurant serves authentic Italian food in a lovely beach garden setting. They also deliver to your door if you are too lazy to walk down the beach. Aside from the usual Italian fare, they also serve sandwiches, salads, omelettes and soups. Also known as 'Little Corner of Italy', there are reasonably priced rooms available here too.
Favorite Dish: The Tortellini Carbonara is really good, and my favourite pizza is the Napolitana (with basil, oregano, anchovies & cheese). The Lasagne comes in large, tasty portions, though it would benefit from some bechamel sauce. I'm also a big fan of the four cheese risotto, the carbonara and the penne bolognaise.

CYMA: Greek Treats

Restaurant Name: CYMA
Cyma is a popular little restaurant located in the Mall Plaza. Despite the fact that this area is usually quite crowded, the restaurant is located in a quiet-ish corner and has a nice ambiance. The staff are very helpful and attentive, and one big attraction is the stainless steel kitchen at the back of the restaurant where you can watch (and smell) your food being prepared.
Favorite Dish: Try the delicious Mezedes Combination for a starter - it's a selection of tasty dips served with warm pitta bread - good to share. Another favourite of mine is the Spinach and Asparagus Fondue, also served with pitta bread and toast. The Saganaki (flaming cheese) is both delicious and entertaining, as they flambe it at your table. Opa! Main courses include traditional favourites such as Moussaka, Greek salad, fresh seafood, Gyros, steaks and Souvlaki (kebabs). There are also at least 15 vegetarian dishes on the menu. If you are with a group, try the Ossobucco Pasta - braised beef shank with Greek tomato sauce and spaghetti - it's good for 4 people. Prices are surprisingly reasonable, but if you are planning an evening meal there it may be wise to drop by and book a table - the restaurant is fast growing in popularity.

Real Coffee: Freshly brewed coffee...

Restaurant Name: Real Coffee
This is a friendly little beachfront coffee shop run by mother and daughter team Nadine and Lee. They are open from 7am until 7 pm serving cakes, sandwiches, pancakes, brownies, omelettes and more. Real Coffee is a bit of an institution on the island, and it's a popular place to meet people and chat. The coffee is rumoured to be the best in Boracay, although I don't drink coffee myself - I just go there for the food. Non coffee lovers can choose from a selection of fresh juices and shakes.
Favorite Dish: Tuna melt sandwiches! Chocolate brownies that melt in the mouth! Or try the Jack-O-Lean Omelette with tuna, onion, tomato, cheese and pesto. Comes with toast. Delicious! New on the menu is the Chicken Melt (with cheese) - my personal favourite. The watermelon & pineapple juice goes down a treat on a hot day too.

Restaurant Name: Rumba's
Rumba's is one of the newer bar / restaurants in the Mall Plaza. It's a small, cosy place with a friendly atmosphere. They serve traditional English pub style food, such as pies, steaks, pasties, fish and chips, cottage pies, curries, lamb chops and sandwiches made with home baked bread. there are also some tasty surprises on the menu, such as green Thai curry.
Favorite Dish: Try the sausage, mash and beans with onion gravy! The imported Angus steaks are really good too. Try their sister restaurant Samba's, located on the beachfront at station 1.

Crafty's: Rooftop bar

Restaurant Name: Crafty's
Whether you are exhausted from a shopping spree in the mall, or just want to escape from the crowds on White Beach, Crafty's Bar is a great place to enjoy a meal and a drink. Situated on the roof of the new Craft's superstore, the bar and coffee shop offer excellent views of the sunset - bring your camera. Despite being relatively new, the place already has a crowd of devoted regular customers, lured back time and time again by the tasty food and friendly company. The location is a plus too - being so high up, Crafty's always catches a nice breeze, and there are no mosquitos.
Favorite Dish: I have developed quite an addiction to their sandwiches! As well as regular white and brown bread, you can also order them on Ciabatta or Foccacia bread. There is a wide range of deli fillings to choose from - my favourite is the smoked salmon with cream cheese, but the steak with caramelised onions and the chicken with roasted vegetables are also really good. I have yet to work my way through the entire menu. Other tasty treats include breakfasts (possibly the best English breakfast on the island), baked potatoes (with choice of fillings), burgers, salads, toasted sandwiches, stuffed potato skins and delicious cakes. UPDATE! Crafty's Bar have recently started serving quite an extensive menu of Indian food, and the meal I ate there a few nights ago was excellent. The bar also has the widest selection of imported beers in Boracay.

Baling Hai: Beach Hideaway

Restaurant Name: Baling Hai
This is a beautiful little spot, situated on its own private beach. The nicest way to reach it is by boat, as part of an island tour. The restaurant serves Filipino and Western style food, snacks, sandwiches and shakes. The restaurant itself is at the top of the cliff. The view makes it worth the effort to climb up all the the steps, and there are some fantastic photo opportunities, but if you don't fancy it, the beach bar will take your order and the food is lowered down the cliff in a basket. Quite a novelty! It's a lovely spot for swimming, and don't forget to bring a snorkel mask. There are also cottages available on the cliffside for those who like it so much they don't want to leave. I'd recommend not bringing the kids though - it's the kind of place people like to go for some peace and quiet.
Favorite Dish: I usually have the grilled chicken with rice and salad, but it all tastes good eaten in such a beautiful place.

Kurt's: German & Filipino food

Restaurant Name: Kurt's
This is a native style bar & restaurant, run by a friendly Bavarian guy named Kurt and his Filipina wife Mags. They serve a variety of delicious European and Filipino dishes, as well as being one of the best places to meet people and chat. Kurt's is also one of the few bars in Boracay to serve draft beer and is the only place to serve Bavarian Weizenbier. To date, he has probably the longest happy hour you'll find on the island, from 2 - 8pm! If you are really in the mood, you can now order a barrel of beer for your table (good for roughly 12 glasses) for only P500, or P350 during happy hour. Bargain!
Favorite Dish: For a starter, the french onion soup topped with toasted bread and cheese is delicious, & I love the jagerschnitzel (pork cutlet) with pan fried potatoes and mushroom gravy, and the huge portions of delicious beef roll. What may be slightly lacking in presentation is more than made up for in taste. I have also become quite addicted to the Hungarian sausage and chips and the Goulash with Spetzl. The portions are very generous, and the company is so friendly, you'll have a hard time leaving. They also serve a selection of sausages, curries, steak, soups, sandwiches, salads and freshly brewed coffee.
