Nabaoy - Nature Hiking - Malay
Nabaoy - Nature Hiking

Try a spot of nature hiking by the river at Nabaoy. You can reach this small Barangay by taking a boat to mainland Panay, and from there riding a tricycle on the main road. The fresh clear water is lovely (though a little cold) for a mid-day swim, and the locals will point you in the right direction of places of interest.

Bonbongan Beach - Malay
Bonbongan Beach

This is Bonbongan Beach on the coast of Malay - another nice spot for a daytrip from Boracay. The place is usually deserted and makes a nice change from the tourist scene in Boracay. Again, you'll need to bring everything you need with you - don't forget plenty of cold drinks (an icebox is useful) and sunscreen. You'll also need to pack a picnic or snacks, and bring snorkel gear and a towel or sarong. Bonbongan is around half an hour by sailboat from Boracay (weather permitting), but you'll need to pay close attention to the tides. If the water level is too low, your boat can't get in to the beach! Stay too long and getting out can be a problem. It's worth the risk though...
