what is there really to say about new york city? it's where i was born and grew up. the place i frequent often to "get away" from my life and get back to basics. heh. a city built for me and my quirks. however nyc can seem quite hokey and silly to the common traveller. it's only when you see the day to day sides of this city that you can really fall in love. besides advising you to avoid midtown at all costs (well, do the tourist sites once if it's a big deal) all i can say is just walk and wander everywhere ... especially after two in the morning. well. not everywhere, but you get the idea ...
