Favorite Thing: Paying a lot of attention to ancient Rome, have a look at Rome of Italian Republic ages as well.

Fondest Memory: These majestic buildings also exist in Rome, you will definitely see them if you're traveeling by car, because they stand on the main city streets. The picture below is also made from the window of bus. If I do remember correctly, rider on sculpture is the last king of Italy. I ask all Italians correct me, if I'm wrong

Trevi Fountain: Look at Trevi fountain.

Fondest Memory: Accidentally discovered by 2 soldiers about 2 thousand years ago, fountain began to look a little bit different nowadays...
This place is ALWAYS overcrowded, and yes, it's understood. Fountain is really great! Don't try to make a good picture, better buy a postcard with Trevi Fountain in souvenirs shop.

Favorite Thing: Look everywhere. Don't hesitate to look staring, because it's forgiven to tourists, and otherwise you will not notice everything that worth it (well, you will not be able to do it anyway).

Fondest Memory: Rome is clearly 'point and click' city. It means you can point your camera ANYWHERE and click. As a result, you will have a nice picture. To illustrate that, I put a picture, that I made from the window of a bus on a move

Colosseum: Look at Colosseum.

Fondest Memory: Don't expect to see all that you have seen in 'Gladiator' movie - but its walls are real and damn they're old! I cannot imagine what did these walls see. The bloom and the collapse of Roman Empire, early Christians, barbarians, medieval knights... During the medieval centuries this magnificent building was a bit destroyed by people who lived around - they used stones form Colloseum for building they own houses. But well, it stands still!
You can even notice some 'gladiators' in front of it, always waiting for tourists to take picture and have paid for that. Well, Mr. Crowe in Maximus's role looks more natural (or just closer to our stereotype???), but these guys are also ok, if you want to show your friends something special on your pictures.

Favorite Thing: Look at Forums from any of hills around.

Fondest Memory: You can take a look on old Forums, while your guide will tell you some history, that you have learned at school, but then have successfully forgotten ;)
It's a bit funny to hear phrases like: 'Look at that two stones - that was a church. Look at that three columns - that was a palace'. What a pity, that ancient city is almost destroyed by time. Well, who knows - would these stones be as attractive, if they will be better-looking?
