Luggage And Bags: less luggage, the better as their local vaporretto will charge you more for excessive luggage...
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: jackets, scarves, hat in the winter... It is colder here because the location is in the ocean itself...

Toiletries & Medical Supplies: Bring your medicines and cough syrup especially if you are not accustomed to the cold weather. It was in Nov and I developed the colds - maybe from germs from the EURail plus the weather factor. It is so warm (heater at max) inside the trains, hotels, but once you go out, it is sooo cold... body temps change in an instant..
