Finally! After years of hoping, waiting, pleading, and politicking...my job is finally transferring me to Germany!

In a short few months, I'll be on a plane headed to Stuttgart, Germany. I can hardly wait! I've already begun making arrangements to bring my ferrets, sell my Nissan Pathfinder, and ship my household goods. I've got a long way to go, but I'll be ready when it's time.

I speak some German (I studied German from 8th grade thru 12th grade), but from my research, it sounds like my formal training will do me very little good in Stuttgart where Swabian is the difficult dialect. I'm sure I'll adjust just fine. I half-way expect to be fluent within 6 to 8 months.

I will be there for a number of years and I plan to do quite a bit of traveling while I'm there. Some of my first stops will most likely be Switzerland and Czech Republic, but I will undoubtedly make my way to Norway, Denmark, Holland, Spain, Portugal and the rest of the countries in the area.

On my site, I have some of my pics from the Korea World Cup in 2002. I plan to attend this year's World Cup in Germany. I'll be sure to post lots of pictures as I'm sure no place on earth celebrates the World Cup the way Germany will! I fully expect to see people from all over the world, frenzied with World Cup adulation! This will undoubtedly be the best of my three World Cup appearances.

Finally, I've been looking online for apartments/rental houses in Stuttgart. If you have any information to help me in my search, I would greatly appreciate it. Any other advice to help facilitate my move would also be appreciated!

Welcome to OUR world!

Here's one of my little guys. He's only been on one roadtrip with me (from Atlanta to Omaha). He didn't really care for it (I think he gets motion sickness), so I have two first class sitters here in Omaha who spoil him rotten while I'm off galavanting around the world. I just got him a little buddy named Turbo (aptly named little rascal) and the two are like peas in a naughty little pod!
