Trip to Honkers..........

Lil' Buddah
Hong Kong is a city with many contrasts and contradictions

A mixture not just of East and West, but of old and new. In this city of contrasts, incense smolders in bread box-sized temples next to modern high rise office buildings, and executives with cell phones stroll past fruit hawkers in traditional broad, woven straw hats.

People here still cling to their roots, to their traditional beliefs and religions. They continue to pray and make offerings at more than 600 old and new temples, shrines and monasteries scattered across the territory. Some are ancient, such as Man Mo Temple on Ladder Street in Western District, Hong Kong's oldest - and one of its most important - places of worship. Others are relatively new, such as Wong Tai Sin in Kowloon, always crowded with worshippers burning incense, praying and consulting fortunetellers.

To be honest I had mixed feelings about Hong Kong.

I guess i love the quieter, more 'unpredictable and spontanious'. I found Hong Kong to be too busy, too polluted, and too crowded.

But in saying all this there were some great moments shared (Like i had to do a singing gig over there, hence the trip and got rotten drunk before hand by a group of charming englishmen, who took great humor in seeing me pass out before i had to perform....ill tell that one later!)

I loved all the Herbalist shops. That was a highlight for me really, walking around and looking at all different types of oriental medicine.

And the night markets- oh god!! wow, now that was an experience never to forget!!

All in all i dont think i would return anytime soon but still the time i had was a hoot. Its all what you make it after all.......and only boring people get bored!!
Oh the over crowdedness

Over crowded Sundays

EWWWWWW.......
Oh god the nightmare......
You have to see it to believe it!!
Worse than crowded Bondi at its best!!
Herbal Shop Hong Kong

One of the many great Herbal shops...

These herbal shops are just sensational. You can buy every dead creature, sure to cleanse those evil toxins out of thy system. I was like a child in a candy shop- ( My passion is Herbal Medicine and jazz singing...)

Pros:"Great markets, great food"
Cons:"Too polluted, too many people, dirty"
In A Nutshell:"Wouldnt return anytime soon- still had fun!"
