"THE FACES OF VENICE" a Venice Travel Page by Amelei

Maybe i came on a bad day, maybe i just couldnt see it, maybe i wasnt there long enough, but Venice???? I couldnt wait to leave the place. It would have to be one of the most boring places i have seen. Sure, the masks are great after the first 100 shops selling the same masks the last 99 did, venician glass is beautiful and so are the next 450 shops selling the same galss the last 449 did. The building are great, if they had colour. I felt like i was in a gothic hell hole. Sure the bridges were cute but not the 50 men on the other side waiting to sell you the same gear that the last 49 on the opposing side were trying to get rid of. Oh and all for a very special price of 150EU.

No matter where i went i felt i was being so ridiculously ripped off. The water is dirty, and smells awful, the people were so unbelievably rude i just could not believe it and the whole marvel of Venice just vaporised before my very eyes. I have heard it is the city of love, for poets, artists ect. Oh, i dont know but i think i missed the boat so to say.

Verona however, now that is a whole other story........
